One of the biggest questions that humans ask ourselves is how and why we ended up on Earth. Now, one scientist is arguing that the modern human race was never supposed to be born on this planet all. Dr. Ellis Silver Ph.D. argues that humans did not evolve alongside the other species of this Earth, but actually arrived on this planet.
“My thesis proposes that mankind did not evolve from that particular strain of life, but evolved elsewhere and was transported to Earth (as fully evolved Homo sapiens) between 60,000 and 200,000 years ago,” he says.
Dr. Silver’s theory is based on the fact that human beings display behaviors that are not found in other members of the animal kingdom. So is it possible the human body did not evolve to deal with the conditions on Earth?
“Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth’s environment,” Dr. Silver says, noting that human beings suffer from conditions like back pain, which could suggest we evolved in a world with a lower gravitational pull.
Though questionable, Dr. Silver’s theory could also explain why humans are sensitive to sunlight, have bizarre appetites, and develop more chronic illnesses than any other animal on the planet. It could also explain why many humans don’t ever feel quite settled.
But why would humans travel to a planet with less-than-ideal conditions?
Dr. Silver suggests that our species did not travel voluntarily, but instead were banished from another planet. It is unlikely, he argues, that an advanced alien race would tolerate the violent dispositions of humans.
“One reason for this…is that the Earth might be a prison planet since we seem to be a naturally violent species and we’re here until we learn to behave ourselves,” he argued.
Dr. Ellis says his book is intended to spark debate and introduce alternative options, instead of being a scientific study. He claims his idea has had a lot of positive feedback so far.
Admittedly, we have our fair share of vices and a habit of being self-destructive, but Dr. Silver’s theory seems a bit harsh. What do you think?
