Explorer in abandoned mine captures eerie ‘demonic chanting’ while metres underground in terrifying video

The man was exploring an abandoned gold mine in Western Australia when he heard phrases like ‘come outside’ and ‘can you see me’

A brave abandoned mine explorer got a bit more than he bargained for when he heard some terrifying noises while trapped many metres underground.

While some of us struggle to even walk around our own houses in the dark without getting scared, the explorer recorded footage of something that would send chills down the spine of even the most rational of people.

The man, named in the video credits as Frank, was exploring the Waldeck Mine in Wiluna, Western Australia when he turned a corner to hear the eerie sounds, which sounds like hundreds of demonic voices chanting.

Unable to explain the sounds, he wonders if they are perhaps birds or snakes.

Nonetheless the horrifying noises aren’t something he wishes to discover the source of – and he hurriedly turns back and retraces his steps out of the old gold mine.

The eerie voices were heard deep in the Waldeck Mine, Wiluna, Western Australia.

The haunting voices were caught on video and posted on YouTube under the name Exploring Abandoned Mines.

In the post about the video, Frank wrote: “Disturbing, strange sounds. That’s exactly what I caught on video while filming and documenting the abandoned Waldeck Mine.

“The Waldeck Mine is an abandoned gold mine located deep in a forested canyon in the high country.

“The abandoned mine itself is over 150 years old and still has a lot of awesome yet dangerous timbering in its furthest reaches.

“There are upper levels in the Waldeck Mine, but I only explored and documented the main haulage tunnel.”

Despite exploring mines for a living, the creepy noises proved to be a bit much even for Frank.

In the video, he has already crept through most of the mine, commenting that he should probably get out before the ceiling collapses.

Then, from where he has just come from, the noises can be clearly heard.

Nonetheless, while such disturbing sounds would have most of us screaming and fleeing, he keeps his cool, stopping to try and work out what it is.

In the footage he says: “Do you hear that?

“Sounds like…is that wind?

“I don’t know if you can hear that on the camera.”

The noise stops and Frank walks to investigate further, and then the creepy noise begins again.

He says: “I don’t know what that is, it doesn’t sound like wind.

“That’s crazy. I don’t know if its a bird. It almost sounds like snakes.

“I’ve heard some weird stuff in mines but that is definitely creepy, so let’s get out of here.

“That was weird.”

With his breathing clearly now a little bit faster, he continues walking out of the mine – at a slightly quicker pace.

Viewers on YouTube clearly think the man is ridiculous for even daring to go down an abandoned mine in the first place.

Alexander Binz wrote: “Exploring an abandoned mine in a forest at night during a storm alone with one light…And I still run up my stairs after turning the light off.”

Other viewers are adamant they can make out some of the words the demonic voices are saying.

Chris Bell said: “I did hear ‘come outside’ and ‘can you see me’ pretty clearly.

“All of the voices seem to overlap each other rhythmically.
Other viewers said they can definitely hear the word “faster” repeated multiple times.

Whatever the noises were, there don’t seem to be many people willing to go back to the mine to investigate in a hurry.
