Mysterious Sighting On Google Earth Sparks Rumours ‘The Kraken’ Has Been Found
Have you heard of the Kraken? You know, the massive mythical sea creature said to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland that definitely isn’t real? Yeah, that. Well, people seem to think it has migrated to the other side of the world and is now dwelling off the coast of Deception Island, near Antarctica.
No, really, there are people that actually think that.
It’s down to a sighting of sorts on Google Earth that has got people talking about the mythical Kraken and possibly even an ‘aquatic UFO’. I mean, how an unidentified flying object is supposed to dwell underwater, I don’t know, but then I don’t believe it so I don’t have to to justify it.
Anyway, if you go on Google Earth and put in the coordinates, 63° 2’56.73″S 60°57’32.38″W, you’ll be taken to the ‘sighting’ of the supposed enormous sea creature.
YouTube account wowforreeel has put some dramatic music to the images from Google Earth to make it seem more convincing…
Another theory suggests the creature is actually a plesiosaur, a now-extinct marine reptile supposedly common during the Jurassic Period. If it is, it’s done a fucking good job of surviving and staying hidden all this time, fair play to the lad.
The YouTuber who uploaded the video also believes the Kraken sighting could explain the mystery of ‘The Bloop’, an ultra low-frequency sound detected by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 1997. People love to think it’s come from an unknown sea creature but the NOAA are actually relatively convinced it was just an ‘icequake’.
Anyone else believe this is the Kraken? Or a giant extinct dinosaur? Or an underwater UFO? Not for me.
