Who Said the Ancients Didn’t Use Supercomputers More than 2,000 Years Ago?

While exploring an ancient shipwreck found near the Greek island of Antikythera, a group of divers discovered a bizarre device with advanced astronomical functions – the Antikythera Mechanism.

Since 1901 when it was discovered, researchers couldn’t figure out what this device was, neither the purpose it served, because of the corrosive layers caused by centuries laying under the ocean. Due to present-day technological progress, scientists were able to decipher its evasive purpose after more than 100 years of misinterpreting, and it appears that this device is of a greater significance for humanity’s history than ever anticipated.

Designed more than 2,000 years ago, this complex mechanism served as a calculator that helped ancient astronomers determine the exact alignment of different groups of stars for calendrical purposes, as well as determining the cycles of the renowned Olympic Games.

In other words, what explorers found inside that shipwreck more than 100 years ago is in fact an ancient analog computer built using a puzzling assembly of almost 30 bronze gear wheels that were carefully sealed in a case embedded with a collection of metallic dials.

The reason why this ancient device has intrigued so many researchers is because it proves advanced technological understanding similar to that of the 18tth century existed as soon as 150 B.C. If we compare it to other ancient instruments, there’s none to match the complexity of this timeworn super-computer, except for the ones built thousands of years later.

Could this prove that ancient civilizations possessed extended technological knowledge, far beyond what modern-day science considers?
To demonstrate what this ancient computer can do, Michael Wright, a UK Mechanic and Historian of Mechanism, has constructed a fully-functional Antikythera mechanism from recycled metal plates (just like the original mechanism used to be), and is now revealing the full range capabilities of this remarkable piece of work.

Is it possible that the ancient builders shared the same fate with their creation? And if so, did they perish together with the accumulated knowledge, thus leaving humanity another couple thousand years to figure out the computation of astronomical positioning?

Keeping in mind the advanced knowledge the ancients possessed, (that most of the time is denied by our history books,) is it possible that aliens described as gods guided the human race in the past and offered their expertise to a selected few?

Well, if we look at all the new discoveries that most of the time contradict with the scientific beliefs of the past, the hypothesis of ancient aliens helping us evolve and thrive doesn’t seem too far off.

In fact, it’s possible that our species is undergoing a cyclic evolution, meaning that every time we are about to make the leap on the Kardashev scale, something terrible is happening, thus wiping the entire progress achieved until then.

Such discoveries are likely to open our eyes and see that our past is not as modern science describes it. There’s a fair chance of other advanced civilizations that had existed before us. Unfortunately, they did not make it through the universal filter for different reasons.

If they were destroyed by their own weapons of mass destruction, or by powerful natural phenomenon, we can only guess, but there’s a clear indicator of meticulous progress that couldn’t had been achieved without a higher level of understanding.

If so, we may once again expect the “creator gods” to descend upon the Earth when this cycle ends. However, the next date of the new beginning can only be speculated, and if it happens in this lifetime, don’t forget to capture the moment.
